Helping Restore the Urban Forest
Groups Involved in the Restoration Effort
The Friends of the Burke-Gilman Trail works in conjunction with and under the auspices of several different groups. Some of those are listed here. You can find out more about these groups by clicking on them.
Friends Of B-G
The Friends of the Burke-Gilman Trail at Sand Point (FBGT @ SP) organization was set up early in 2007. FBGT at SP originally had members who were either neighbors very close to the trail or neighbors with special skills in native plant renewal projects. It's members are now mostly forest stewards.
Forest Stewards
Green Seattle Forest Stewards lead restoration and educate others about the challenges facing our forests. The desire is to encourage a diverse group of volunteers to take the lead in their own communities and ultimately to galvanize an informed, involved, and active community of forest stewardship across the entire city!
Seattle Parks Foundation
The Friends of B-G Trail is a partner of the Seattle Parks Foundation. This organization provides 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and a suite of accounting, insurance, fundraising, communications, and advocacy services to community groups that are making park and public space projects happen across the city.
